Used oil recycling facility opens in Surrey

RCF Program

We are pleased to announce that Great Canadian Oil Change located at 6480 King George Blvd., Surrey, B.C., received a grant from BCUOMA that provided them with a 10 ft. sea container and a 1,100 litre storage tank to be used for the responsible collection and storage of returned used oil and antifreeze materials.

“Great Canadian Oil Change in Surrey adapted to meet the needs of Surrey’s growing population by providing a free of charge, used oil recycling facility for residents to easily and conveniently return their used oil materials,” said David Lawes, CEO, BC Used Oil Management Association. “Once used oil is returned to this location, it is transferred to a processing facility where it can be recycled into various products, including new lubricating oil. Antifreeze is also refined and reused as new automotive antifreeze.”

BCUOMA would like to acknowledge that the Great Canadian Oil Change used oil recycling facility in Surrey is located on the traditional territory of the Coast Salish People.
