Used Oil Recycling Depot opens in Port Renfrew

News

We are excited to announce the official opening that the Port Renfrew Garbage & Recycling Depot, located at 17055 Parkinson Rd, has received new recycling infrastructure for the collection and storage of antifreeze, antifreeze containers and oil filters, to help prevent automotive fluids and their containers from the environment. The Port Renfrew Garbage & Recycling Depot has received a new 6 ft sea container which is now open to the public and will serve as an essential part of the community’s waste management system.

“Our ability to properly recycle and reintroduce used materials back into B.C.’s circular economy is crucial, and the expansion of our infrastructure in Port Renfrew is a significant step forward,” said David Lawes, CEO, Interchange Recycling. “This new sea container will support local recycling efforts, helping to divert more materials from the landfill and ensure that the community has a safe, accessible option for responsible disposal.”

“With the addition of this new recycling infrastructure, we’re able to manage these automotive  materials more efficiently and safely,” said Jason Oulton, CRD Port Renfrew Transfer Station Supervisor. “We’re now able to provide Port Renfrew residents and customers with a convenient, close to home solution to recycle used motor oil and oil containers, ensuring they are properly handled and kept out of our environment and our local waterways.”
