Regional District of Fraser-Fort George opens new used oil and antifreeze recycling facility

We are very pleased to announce that the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George received a grant from BCUOMA that provided the Cummings Road Regional Transfer Station, located at 8375 Alpine Drive, with a new recycling centre for the responsible collection and storage of returned used oil and antifreeze materials. 

“The Cummings Road Transfer Station upgraded their facility last fall to allow for better traffic flow and multiple access points to increase customer and staff safety. They have now also opened a used oil and antifreeze recycling centre, which includes a 10-foot modified sea container and a 1,100-litre tank. This used oil recycling addition to their transfer station shows the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George’s continued commitment to accommodating the growing recycling needs of their community,” said David Lawes, CEO, BC Used Oil Management Association.

“We are happy to see that BCUOMA’s partnership with the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George has created a new, first-class used oil recycling infrastructure that is environmentally friendly, free, and easy to use.”

BCUOMA would like to acknowledge that the Cummings Road Regional Transfer Station in Prince George is located on the traditional territory of the Lheidli T’enneh.
