Reflections on the 2024 Summer Ambassador Tour: Building a Greener Future
• NewsThat’s a wrap on our summer Ambassador Tour! Interchange Recycling Ambassadors recently completed a three-month along from the beautiful coastlines of Vancouver Island to the remote, picturesque landscapes of the Peace River district and everything in between. Experiencing what each area had to offer renewed their love for the majestic and diverse province they proudly to call home.
While traveling to all these cities and communities, our Ambassadors raisedawareness about the importance of used oil recycling and encouraged residents to explore ways to contribute to environmental sustainability in their own way. Through various events, from small community gatherings to larger festivals, they engaged with individuals and families, sparking conversations about Interchange Recycling. From theActive Minds Summer Camp in Prince George to the Williams Lake Stampede to the Mile Zero Cruiser’s car show in Dawson Creek, they made meaningful connections with people of all ages.
Our Ambassadors collected 304 surveys, tattooed 68 children’s arms, and gave away more than 500 Interchange branded pens. The Tour provided a summer full of learning, sharing, and creating connections, paving the way for a greener, more environmentally friendly future in British Columbia. Whether it was through raising awareness on used oil recycling or applauding individuals who already participate in the program by doing their part, the Ambassadors empowered communities to take environmental initiatives in their own hands. Thank you to everyone who played a part in making this summer tour a great success!
We plan on doing it all again next summer so if you have a community event you think the Interchange Ambassadors should be at, please contact us with details.
