Chetwynd Landfill Gets an Upgrade
• NewsWe are happy to announce that the Chetwynd Landfill on 3978 Blair Road, Chetwynd, BC, owned by the Peace River Regional District (PRRD) has received new recycling infrastructure. This location has received a 20ft sea container with a 2,200 litre tank to store program materials.
“Effectively recycling and reintegrating used materials into B.C.’s circular economy is crucial and relies on having the right infrastructure in place for safe collection, handling, and storage,” said David Lawes, CEO, Interchange Recycling. “This new infrastructure will enable the hardworking team at Chetwynd Landfill to collect used materials from residents of Chetwynd.”

“Thanks to the new recycling infrastructure, the landfill can now handle automotive materials more effectively and safely,” said PRRD Board Chair, Leonard Hiebert. “This provides residents with a nearby, accessible and safe way to recycle items like used motor oil and antifreeze, keeping them out of our environment and local water systems.”
