Two Used Oil Recycling  Facilities Upgraded in Regional District of Fraser-Fort George

News

We are pleased to announce that two Prince George locations — the Vanway Regional Transfer Station (6556 Broddy Road) and the Quinn Street Regional Recycling Depot (1687 Quinn Street South) — have completed significant upgrades to their used-oil recycling infrastructure, improving recycling access for local residents. Each facility has received a 10 ft sea container with 2,200 Litre tank and two drums for used oil collection along with additional storage capacity for other program materials.

“We’re making it simple for British Columbians to protect the environment. Used oil and antifreeze are 100 per cent recyclable, and these collection sites are the essential defense perimeter actively protecting our land and water,” said David Lawes, CEO, Interchange Recycling. “With 99.4% of residents having reasonable access to our program, there’s never been an easier way to make a difference” adds Lawes.

“Upgrading these sites is an investment in the long-term sustainability of our region ” said Graham Thornton, Environmental Services Program Analyst, Regional District of Fraser-Fort George “By enhancing two of our key sites, we’re making it easier and more convenient for residents to keep waste out of  landfill and do the right thing for the environment.”
