We are so happy to announce that the Revelstoke Landfill, located at 300 Westside Rd., now has an upgraded recycling infrastructure. The facility received an upgraded 10ft sea container for used oil collection and to store additional Interchange Recycling program materials.

“Used motor oil is the perfect recyclable product, if it’s collected and returned properly,” said David Lawes, CEO, Interchange Recycling. “If used oil is improperly managed, it presents a hazard to the environment, which is why it’s so important that we upgrade recycling infrastructure across the province when it’s needed, to ensure residents have reasonable and convenient access to used oil recycling centres. The site upgrades at the Revelstoke Landfill will enable them to continue serving the community, and running their operations effectively.”

“Making sure hazardous waste stays out of the landfill is important,” said Graham Casselman, Waste Reduction Coordinator, Columbia Shuswap Regional District. “Having this new recycling infrastructure for used oil, antifreeze, oil filters, and related containers  will keep residents and our environment safer. With this new upgrade and increased capacity, we are able to serve our community better and urge everyone to take advantage of the service by dropping off their used oil and associated products on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.”
