Bowser Automotive Ltd. receives new recycling infrastructure
• RCF Program
We are pleased to announce that Bowser Automotive Ltd., located at 6970 Island Hwy W, Bowser, B.C., has received new recycling infrastructure. This location has received a 10ft sea container with an intermediate bulk container for oil collection and 2 drums to store program materials.
“Used motor oil is the perfect recyclable product, if it’s collected and returned properly,” said David Lawes, CEO, Interchange Recycling. “If used oil is improperly managed, it presents a hazard to the environment, which is why it’s so important that we upgrade recycling infrastructure across the province when it’s needed, to ensure residents have reasonable and convenient access to used oil recycling centres. Bowser Automotive Ltd. has been collecting used oil, antifreeze, oil filters and antifreeze containers since 2004, and this site upgrade will enable them to continue serving the community, and running their operation effectively.”
Formed in 2003 under the British Columbia Society Act, Interchange Recycling has provided British Columbians with a convenient, free, and eco-friendly way to recycle program materials for the past two decades. 99.6 percent of residents across the province currently have reasonable access to recycling locations.
“This upgraded infrastructure will help us collect and store more used oil and anti-freeze materials, in a safe manner,” said Thomas Flegel, Operations Manager, Bowser Automotive Ltd. “For years, this program has been advantageous to our community and has helped us mitigate any dumping of hazardous materials into landfills – we’re proud to play a part in keeping our community stronger and healthier by keeping oil, filters, antifreeze and their containers out of our environment.”
